In preparation for the official commissioning of road projects in Oron on Tuesday, 25th May, 2021, the Honourable Member representing Oron/Udung Uko State Constituency, Rt. Hon. Effiong Bassey, was on ground today to ensure the dotting of all I’s as well as the crossing of all T’s, in readiness for the arrival of His Excellency Governor Udom Emmanuel.

On hand to receive the distinguished parliamentarian and his entourage was the Project Manager, Engr. Kola Yusuf.
Engr Yusuf, on behalf of Wizchino Engineering Company, lauded Governor Udom Emmanuel for releasing funds for the project, as agreed. He lauded the Governor’s transactional candour and developmental drive, while simultaneously assuring the Member and his retinue that there is nothing that would stop the commissioning on Tuesday.

During the on-the-spot assessment, the Honourable Member visited the four roads earmarked for comissioning: Oron Road, Murtala Way, Market Square and Custom Road. He charged the constructors to ensure that all that is needed for the commissioning is done. He adulated Governor Udom Emmanuel for being responsive and sensitive to the plights of the Oro people.
Amongst the many sterling qualities exuded by His Excellency, the Oron/Udung Uko lawmaker highlighted Governor Udom Emmanuel’s proclivity for meaningful development, his tenacity in the face of economic topsy-turvydom, his superlative wit, and his predisposition for socioeconomic resuscitation—all of which have culminated in the delivery of the road projects even in a time when the Covid-19 pandemic is sapping finances.

Hon. Bassey thus thanked Governor Emmanuel for always making his word his bond, and reaffirmed his continuous support for His Excellency’s completion agenda beyond 2023.

Speaking in the same vein, the immediate past Chairman of Oron LGA, Hon Anthony Bassey admonished the constructors in different construction sites to be proactive in making sure the road projects are commissioned on Tuesday. He poured encomiums on His Excellency for being a detrabilized leader and a father who does not play politics with projects. He further commended him for performing beyond expectations.

Other members of Hon. Bassey’s team who were at the road projects inspection are: Rt. Hon. Anthony Bassey Etim – immediate past Chairman of Oron LGA; Hon Eta Bassey – Former Transition Chairman of Oron LGA; Elder Stanley Ating – SA to the Governor on Project Monitoring; Rt. Hon.
